America Is Hard to See

My old friend from high school Bob Newman and I have been  going back and forth on Sen. Eugene McCarthy, the last great American politician. I think I was the last journalist to interview McCarthy, when he was in a retirement home in Washington, DC. We talked for about 3 hours. I wish I had taped it! This is pretty close to what he looked like at the time:
